Laser Box Generator
Finger-joint box generator with separate X and Y kerf for diode lasers. LightBurn-ready SVG, works offline.

The problem
Diode laser spots are rectangular or oval, so cuts are wider in one direction. Boxes come out tight on one axis and loose on the other, because LightBurn and popular free box generators use one kerf value for everything.
The fix
Laser Box Generator compensates X and Y kerf separately and exports a true-scale mm SVG ready for LightBurn.
Features
- Separate kerf for X and Y
- mm or inch input; SVG always true-scale mm
- Target finger width, rounded to an odd count so every corner closes
- Closed or open-top boxes, outside dimensions
- LightBurn-friendly SVG: red hairline cut paths, one closed outline per panel, kerf already applied
- Live preview; one HTML file that runs offline in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari
- Geometry checked automatically on every build (no gaps, exact tab/slot complements)
Who it's for
Laser cutting hobbyists and makers with diode lasers (xTool, Atomstack and similar).
FAQ
Do I need an account or internet?
No. It is a single HTML file that runs offline.
Should I set kerf in LightBurn too?
No, leave LightBurn's kerf offset at 0; the kerf is already applied.
Will it fix a badly fitting box on any machine?
Cut a small test first and measure material thickness. Kerf compensation can't fix a loose belt or an out-of-square machine.
What is the refund policy?
All sales are final and there are no refunds. Products are provided as-is, without warranty or liability.
